Protein electrophoresis is an important research tool in proteomics, allowing researchers to separate, visualize and study proteins. Protein electrophoresis is also the precursor to Western blotting analysis. A technique, using specific antibodies, to probe membranes for specific proteins.
This mini-vertical apparatus is designed to accommodate both gel electrophoresis and Western blotting within the same unit. No extra equipment is required. The system is capable of running two gels or 2 blots simultaneously. A simply designed protein electrophoresis system that is easy to handle and use. Contains all the necessary components to pour, cast and run protein gels. Each unit is designed to run either one or two gels at the same time.
The system is supplied with all the apparatus required to transfer proteins from up to 2 gels. The system is supplied with blotting tank and lid with attached power leads, central electrode unit, two blotting cassettes, two coolant blocks and fiber pads. Additional fiber pads can be purchased.
Gel Casting system (P085) supplied separately. Each gel casting system suitable for casting two gels, includes combs, spacers, glass plates gasket and clamps.
