The aim of proteomics is to identify proteins and the techniques and equipment used have become increasingly more sensitive.  Contaminations in samples can lead to misleading and artifactual results and limited identification of proteins.  As a result, scientists routinely use several techniques to ensure their samples are “clean”, one of which is gel filtration spin columns.
This kit teaches the uses of specific gel filtration spin column methods for cleaning and equilibrating protein and nucleic acid samples for analysis and theirresearch applications.
This lab activity involves cleaning and equilibration of biological samples using a spin column.

Supplied with components needed for hands-on experimentation for workstations of 2 students or 24 students. Supplied with Teacher’s Guide and separate Student’s Guides.
