Folding & Solubilization
Protein Folding is the physical process by which a polypeptide folds into its characteristic and functional three-dimensional structure. Solubilization is the use of a detergent or other agent to make a substance more soluble.
Our
PROTEIN-Foldase™ kit is specifically designed simplify the optimization of protein folding procedures. This kit is based on a proprietary combination of denaturing agents for solubilization of inclusion bodies and the folding protocol based on rapid dilution of denatured protein into proprietary folding mixes. We also offer a selection of strong chemicals to aid in protein denaturation. Chemicals such as
urea and
guinidine hydrochloride are strong denaturants, or chaotropes, which disrupt water interactions resulting in the solubilization of hydrophobic proteins and peptides. The chaotropes also act on proteins to unfold them and alter their three-dimensional structure.
Inclusion bodies solubilization buffers are also available.
