Dissertation and research projects are an effective method of enhancing professional skills. It allows students the opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge and hands-on training in goal oriented and problem solving tasks. For thesis and dissertation projects to enhance professional skills, they must allow students the opportunity to apply a wide range of methods and techniques in problem solving tasks.

Unfortunately, most educational institutions do not have the necessary resources to prepare and provide students adequate hands-on training.  As a result, students wishing to undertake a thesis project often lack the knowledge and techniques to adequately complete a thesis project.  The lack of knowledge and techniques means students are often given low impact thesis projects that do little to expand their knowledge and technical training.  Such limited scope thesis projects do not prepare students for the challenges that lie ahead in a biotechnology profession.

Recognizing the demand for biotechnology dissertation projects for students with limited hands-on experience, G-Biosciences has designed and developed the Thesis and Dissertation Programs.  Using our vast resources and experience in both genomic and proteomic sciences (visit our Research Product Pages) G-Biosciences has developed projects that will be tailored to suit individual skill levels.

The aims and objectives of the Thesis and Dissertation Programs are to provide technique rich, hands-on programs to learn and apply a wide variety of genomic and proteomic techniques in problem solving exercises.

The Thesis and Dissertation Programs are conducted by first training students in the use of the latest biotechniques that leads students into research project tasks. The thesis programs allow participants to conduct a research project with the aim of generating presentable data and findings that will be compiled into a thesis to fulfill institutional requirements.  Each participant will generate their own data and prepare their own thesis.

G-Biosciences Thesis and Dissertation Programs require application of the latest biotechniques in general biotechnology, molecular biology, protein and proteomic, immunotechniques, and microbiology topics.

Students enrolling in the Thesis and Dissertation Programs are first evaluated before assigning a thesis project.

The Thesis and Dissertation Programs are designed to last between 3-4 months of experimental lab activities, discussion, reading, and thesis writing.
