Chloramphenicol

TESTED AGAINST BOTH SENSITIVE AND RESISTANT CELLS.

MOLECULAR BIOLOGY GRADE

Mode of action and Anti-microbial spectrum: Bacteriostatic agent against both gram negative and gram positive bacteria. Enters sensitive cells by active transport. Within the cell it binds to the 50S ribosomal subunit and inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by preventing attachment of aminoacyl transfer RNA to its acceptor site on the ribosome, thus preventing peptide bond formation by peptidyl transferase.

Store dessicated at -20°C

Chloramphenicol USP Grade is soluble in ethanol
