FOCUS™ ProteaseArrest™ is a ready-to-use, 100X concentrated, broad range protease inhibitor cocktail that is fully compatible with 2D electrophoresis and subsequent mass spectrometry. The protease inhibitor cocktail consits of AEBSF, Aprotinin, Bestatin, Calpain Inhibitor I, Leupeptin, Phosphoramidon and PMSF that inhibits serine, cysteine, calpain and metallo- proteases. Due to the optimized concentration of the various inhibitors, the FOCUS™ ProteaseArrest™ shows excellent inhibition of protease activities, and is therefore suitable for the protection of protein samples from animal tissues, plants, yeast and bacteria. FOCUS™ Protease Arrest™ is compatible with 2D electrophoresis as it uses an alternative to EDTA as an inhibitor of metalloproteases. The absence of EDTA allows for optimal action of nucleases or removing nucleic acids from the samples. In addition, FOCUS™ ProteaseArrest™ uses PMSF as its primary serine protease inhibitor as opposed to the commonly used Pefabloc®. Pefabloc® has been reported to modify proteins at high concentrations and result in artifacts in subsequent 2D electrophoresis and mass spectrometry.

ProteaseArrest Family
Our ProteaseArrest™ is a highly efficient, liquid format general protease inhibitor cocktail that offers >95% protease inhibition. The ProteaseArrest™ family of inhibitor cocktails includes other species-specific inhibitor cocktails as well, all of which are enhanced with inhibitors specific for that species. In addition to Bacteria, species-specific cocktails are available for Bacterial, Plant, Yeast, Fungus and Mammalian samples. Our Recom ProteaseArrest™ is designed for recombinant protein purification, particularly 6X His tagged proteins. These proteins are purified by IMAC (Immobilized Metal Affinity Chromatography), which is severely inhibited by the routinely used metalloproteases inhibitor EDTA. Recom ProteaseArrest™ contains a specific bacterial metalloproteases that does not interfere with 6X His protein purification. The TCM ProteaseARREST™ protease inhibitor cocktail is a broad range, 200X concentrated, ready-to-use protease inhibitor cocktail sterile filtered for tissue culture media. TCM ProteaseArrest™ inhibits a wide range of serine, cysteine and other specific proteases including aminopeptidases trypsin-like and acid proteases.
