Immobilized Neomycin

Neomycin is a bactericidal aminoglycoside antibiotic. It binds to the 30S ribosome of susceptible organisms and interferes with mRNA binding and acceptor tRNA sites and results in the production of non-functional or toxic peptides.

Immobilized Neomycin is prepared by covalently coupling neomycin to an activated 6% cross-linked agarose and is used in isolation of neomycin binding proteins, receptors and specific antibodies.
