Immobilized Penicillin G

Penicillin G is a naturally occurring beta lactam antibiotic produced by the Penicillium fungus. Penicillin G works by inhibiting cell wall production in non-resistant cells by breaking the links between peptidogylocans and causing the production of cell wall damaging autolysins.

Immobilized Penicillin G is made by covalentlly coupling Penicillin G to 6% cross linked agarose and is used for isolating Penicillin G binding proteins, receptors and antibodies
