Jacalin (Artocarpus integrifolia lectin)

G-Biosciences’ Jacalin (Artocarpus integrifolia lectin) is isolated from the seeds of jackfruit and purified by affinity chromatography. Jacalin is a α-D-galactose binding lectin consisting of a tetrameric two chain structure with a molecular weight of ~66kDa.

Jacalin, due to its carbohydrate binding properties, is useful in hematology, immunology or as a marker for membrane glycoproteins. Jacalin can be immobilized to a solid support and be used for the isolation of IgA from human serum, isolate human plasma glycoproteins and for histochemistry applications.

G-Biosciences Jacalin is supplied as a lyophilized powder.
