KBA 62 Antibody IHC

This antibody is intended for in vitro diagnostic (IVD) use.

The KBA.62 (Melanoma Associated Antigen) (IHC062) antibody is intended for qualified laboratories to qualitatively identify by light microscopy the presence of associated antigens in sections of formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections using IHC test methods. Use of this antibody is indicated, subsequent to clinical differential diagnoses of diseases, as an aid in the identification of cancers, especially melanoma within the context of antibody panels, the patient’s clinical history and other diagnostic tests evaluated by a qualified pathologist.

KBA.62, also known as Melanoma Associated Antigen, is used to detect an antigen present in melanocytic tumors, such as melanomas, due to its proven sensitivity and specificity. The antibody can also be used to distinguish between junctional nevus and intradermal nevus cells, and fetal melanocytes versus normal adult melanocytes. Studies have shown KBA.62 to be highly useful in differentiating between metastatic amelanotic melanoma and a number of poorly differentiated carcinomas, large cell lymphomas, sarcomas, and spindle cell carcinomas.
