BSA, Acetylated is used as a carrier protein and a stabilizer in enzyme reactions which require absence of any contaminants such as nucleases and proteases. BSA acetylation process removes any traces of nuclease activity present in BSA. Acetylated BSA is frequently added to restriction enzyme digestion reactions.
