Amoxicillin is the 4-hydroxy analog of ampicillin and has similar actions and uses as of ampicillin. It shows specific antibacterial activity against Enterococcus faecalis, Heliobacter pylori, and Salmonella species.
Immobilized Amoxicillin is made by covalently coupling amoxicillin to 6% cross linked agarose and is used for isolating amoxicillin binding proteins, receptors and specific antibodies.
