Immobilized Ceftazidime

Ceftazidime inhibits enzymes which are responsible for bacterial cell-wall synthesis, mainly penicillin binding protein 3 (PBP3). A broad range of gram-negative bacteria are susptible to ceftazidime including strains resistant to gentamicin and other aminoglycosides.

Immobilized Ceftazidime is made by covalently coupling ceftazidime to 6% cross linked agarose and is used for isolating ceftazidime binding proteins, receptors and specific antibodies.
