Immobilized Hygromycin B


Hygromycin B is an aminocyclitol with a wide spectrum of activity that kills bacteria, fungi and higher eukaryotic cells by inhibiting protein synthesis. It is produced by the bacterium Streptomyces hygroscopicus.



Immobilized Hygromycin B is made by covalently coupling hygromycin B to 6% cross linked agarose and is used for isolating hygromycin B binding proteins, receptors and specific antibodies.
