Cytokines

Cytokines are a broad and loose category of small proteins that are important in cell signaling. Cytokines include chemokines, interferons, interleukins, lymphokines, tumor necrosis factor but generally not hormones or growth factors. Cytokines are produced by a broad range of cells, including immune cells like macrophages, B lymphocytes, T lymphocytes and mast cells, as well as endothelial cells, fibroblasts, and various stromal cells. They act through receptors, and are especially important in the immune system; cytokines modulate the balance between humoral and cell-based immune responses, and they regulate the maturation, growth, and responsiveness of particular cell populations.

G-Biosicences produces a comprehensive collection of cytokines in a carrier-free formulation to avoid the interference on you research results caused by protein carriers such as BSA. Listed here under the “cytokine” category are interleukins and interferons. Chemokines are listed in a separate category. Other cytokines can be found in our general catalog. Our stringent quality control standards guarantee purity greater than 95% and endotoxin level smaller than 0.1 ng/μg for every product.
