Saves time and reagents. CB-XTM Protein Assay provides both the single tube protein assay for rapid estimation and the conventional multi-tube calibration-plot assisted assays. Unlike Coomassie dye based protein assays, the CB-XTM Protein Assay is compatible with detergents and other common laboratory agents such as reducing sugars, thiols, and chelating agents. Suitable for a wide range of protein samples including detergent solubilized membrane proteins. No protein standard calibration is needed. CB-XTM is the only protein assay that can be used as "one sample and one assay reaction". No protein standard calibration needed. Quick and reliable estimation of protein concentration without preparing protein standard calibration plots. The CB-XTM Protein Assay is supplied with a batch specific " CB-XTM Table. Protein solutions containing 1% Triton X-100 ( Yellow plot)  and 1% SDS ( Red plot ) were assayed using a standard  Coomassie dye protein assay. The plot shows breakdown of the assay. Protein solution containing the detergents were again assayed with the CB-XTM  protein assay(Green plot). The CB-XTM protein assay plot matches the control (e.g., protein solution without  a detergent, Black plot). Principle Behind the CB-XTM Assay The CB-XTM, a proprietary reagent, when mixed with protein solution rapidly precipitates and immobilizes protein in the sample tube. This allows removal of interfering agents present in the protein solution. Clean protein is all that remains in the assay tube. The clean protein pellet is suspended in the CB-XTM buffer and mixed with the CB-XTM /Dye reagents. A characteristic protein-dye blue color complex develops. The absorbance of protein-dye complex is read at 595nm and the protein concentration is determined using a pre-prepared CB-XTM Table. A batch specific CB-XTM Table is provided for quick and reliable determination of protein concentration. The CB-XTM Table has been prepared using a complex protein mixture whose dose response compares well with the proteins derived from animal, plant, bacteria, as well as yeast. The CB-XTM Table is suitable for most protein estimation (Patent Pending). The kit is also supplied with a Bovine Serum Albumin protein standard for those who prefer to perform protein estimation using the traditional calibration-plot assisted protein assay or develop their own reference table. The CB-XTM Protein Assay is reliable over the range of 0.5µg - 50µg per assay. The kit contains reagents for up to 500 assays; 250 single tube assays or 500 traditional calibration-plot assisted assays. Simple to use - Mix your protein solution with CB-XTM and collect detergent free protein for assay. Suspend the detergent free protein with the CB-XTM /Dye reagents and read the reaction optical density at 595nm.   TOLERANCE TO COMMON LABORATORY AGENTS: The protein assay shows wide tolerance to both ionic and non-ionic detergents such as SDS, Triton-X100, CHAPS, phosphate buffers, reducing agents, urea, guanidine HCl and other common laboratory agents.
