The use of peptides for the generation of antibodies against specific peptides has become an essential tool in proteomic research. The most common carrier proteins are bovine serum albumin (BSA) and keyhole limpet hemocyanin (KLH).
We offer a wide variety of carrier proteins for the successful generation of antibodies. Our ActiveHOOK™ products include both ActiveHOOK™ BSA (maleimide activated bovine serum albumin) and ActiveHOOK™ KLH (maleimide activated keyhole limpet hemocyanin). Both rapidly couple to free sulfhydryl groups on peptides and proteins using just one simple step. These activated carrier proteins save both time and money as separate cross-linkers are not required. Our HyperCarrier™ uses cationized BSA which has been found to elicit greater immunogenic response compared to normal BSA.
HOOK™ kits are also available for the coupling of peptides to carrier proteins. Both amine reactive and sulfhydryl reactive HOOK™ Peptide Coupling Kits are offered.
