Description
This kit is designed to teach 8 groups of four students the principles of enzyme assays.
The kit contains the reagents to allow students to test for the presence and activity of 2 different types of amylase by:
- Visualizing the breakdown of the starch substrate by the amylase enzyme using an iodine solution
- Detecting the production of sugars using glucose test strips
- AND measuring sugar production with Benedict's solution
- Using positive and negative control samples
Features- For 8 groups of 4 students
- Requires a heat block or hot waterbath and micropipettes and tips
Applications
- HS-LS1: From Molecules to Organisms: Structures and Processes
- LS1.A: Structure and Function
