Alcian Blue Plus

Alcian Blue Plus stain is routinely used for histological staining of glycosaminoglycans. It has excellent affinity towards acid mucosubstances and acetic mucins such as sulfated and carboxylated acidic mucopolysaccharides, and sulfated and carboxylated sialomucins (glycoproteins).

Our Alcian Blue Plus (pH 2.5) was developed to achieve superior staining over conventional Alcian Blue 8GX formulations. This stain can substitute classic 1% Alcian Blue (pH 2.5) without any protocol adjustments.
