IMPORTANT NOTE This product is custom manufactured with a lead time of 3-4 weeks. Once in production, this item cannot be cancelled from an order and is not eligible for return. Target Protein USP28 Clonality Polyclonal Storage/Stability -20°C/1 year Application WB,ELISA Recommended Dilution WB 1:500-1:2000 Concentration 1 mg/ml Reactive Species Human,Mouse,Rat Host Species Rabbit Immunogen A synthesized peptide Specificity USP28 antibody detects endogenous levels of total USP28 Purification The antiserum was purified by peptide affinity chromatography. Form Rabbit IgG in phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, 150mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol. Gene Name USP28 Accession No. Q96RU2 Alternate Names Deubiquitinating enzyme 28; KIAA1515; Ubiquitin carboxyl terminal hydrolase 28; Ubiquitin carboxyl-terminal hydrolase 28; ubiquitin carboxyl-terminal hydrolase 28 variant 1; Ubiquitin specific peptidase 28; Ubiquitin specific processing protease 28; Ubiquitin specific protease 28; Ubiquitin thioesterase 28; Ubiquitin thiolesterase 28; Ubiquitin-specific-processing protease 28; UBP28_HUMAN; USP 28; USP28; USP28 protein; Description Deubiquitinase involved in DNA damage response checkpoint and MYC proto-oncogene stability. Involved in DNA damage induced apoptosis by specifically deubiquitinating proteins of the DNA damage pathway such as CLSPN. Also involved in G2 DNA damage checkpoint, by deubiquitinating CLSPN, and preventing its degradation by the anaphase promoting complex/cyclosome (APC/C). In contrast, it does not deubiquitinate PLK1. Specifically deubiquitinates MYC in the nucleoplasm, leading to prevent MYC degradation by the proteasome: acts by specifically interacting with isoform 1 of FBXW7 (FBW7alpha) in the nucleoplasm and counteracting ubiquitination of MYC by the SCF(FBW7) complex. In contrast, it does not interact with isoform 4 of FBXW7 (FBW7gamma) in the nucleolus, allowing MYC degradation and explaining the selective MYC degradation in the nucleolus. Deubiquitinates ZNF304, hence preventing ZNF304 degradation by the proteasome and leading to the activated KRAS-mediated promoter hypermethylation and transcriptional silencing of tumor suppressor genes (TSGs) in a subset of colorectal cancers (CRC) cells (PubMed:24623306). Cell Pathway/ Category Primary Polyclonal Antibody Protein MW 122 kDa Usage For Research Use Only! Not for diagnostic or therapeutic procedures. - Reviews
