Description integrator complex subunit 6(INTS6) Homo sapiens DEAD box proteins, characterized by the conserved motif Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp (DEAD), are putative RNA helicases. The protein encoded by this gene is a DEAD box protein that is part of a complex that interacts with the C-terminus of RNA polymerase II and is involved in 3' end processing of snRNAs. In addition, this gene is a candidate tumor suppressor and is located in the critical region of loss of heterozygosity (LOH). Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2015],

Protein Function function:Component of the Integrator complex, a complex involved in the small nuclear RNAs (snRNA) U1 and U2 transcription and in their 3'-box-dependent processing. The Integrator complex is associated with the C-terminal domain (CTD) of RNA polymerase II largest subunit (POLR2A) and is recruited to the U1 and U2 snRNAs genes. May have a tumor suppressor role; an ectopic expression suppressing tumor cell growth.,induction:Frequently down-regulated in nonsmall cell lung carcinomas and prostate cancers. Down-regulation in prostate cancer is due to CpG hypermethylation of its promoter. However, some involvement in cancer is unclear.,sequence caution:Contaminating sequence. Potential poly-A sequence.,similarity:Belongs to the Integrator subunit 6 family.,similarity:Contains 1 VWFA domain.,subunit:Belongs to the multiprotein complex Integrator, at least composed of INTS1, INTS2, INTS3, INTS4, INTS5, INTS6, INTS7, INTS8, INTS9/RC74, INTS10, CPSF3L/INTS11 and INTS12.,tissue specificity:Widely expressed. Expressed in heart, brain, placenta, lung, liver, skeletal muscle, kidney and pancreas.,
