IMPORTANT NOTE This product is custom manufactured with a lead time of 3-4 weeks. Once in production, this item cannot be cancelled from an order and is not eligible for return. Target Protein 4E-BP1 Clonality Polyclonal Storage/Stability -20°C/1 year Application WB,IHC-p,ELISA Recommended Dilution Western Blot: 1/500 - 1/2000. Immunohistochemistry: 1/100 - 1/300. ELISA: 1/5000. Not yet tested in other applications. Concentration 1 mg/ml Reactive Species Mouse,Rat,Monkey Host Species Rabbit Immunogen Synthesized peptide derived from 4E-BP1, at AA range: 10-90 Specificity 4E-BP1 Polyclonal Antibody detects endogenous levels of 4E-BP1 protein. Purification The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen Form Liquid in PBS containing 50% glycerol, 0.5% BSA and 0.02% sodium azide. Gene Name EIF4EBP1 Accession No. Q62622 Alternate Names EIF4EBP1; Eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4E-binding protein 1; 4E-BP1; eIF4E-binding protein 1; Phosphorylated heat- and acid-stable protein regulated by insulin 1; PHAS-I Description EIF4EBP1 encodes one member (eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4E binding protein 1) of a family of translation repressor proteins. The protein directly interacts with eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4E (eIF4E), which is a limiting component of the multisubunit complex that recruits 40S ribosomal subunits to the 5' end of mRNAs. Interaction of this protein with eIF4E inhibits complex assembly and represses translation. This protein is phosphorylated in response to various signals including UV irradiation and insulin signaling, resulting in its dissociation from eIF4E and activation of mRNA translation.
