IMPORTANT NOTE This product is custom manufactured with a lead time of 3-4 weeks. Once in production, this item cannot be cancelled from an order and is not eligible for return. Target Protein MDA-7 Clonality Polyclonal Storage/Stability -20°C/1 year Application WB,IHC-p,ELISA Recommended Dilution Western Blot: 1/500 - 1/2000. IHC-p: 1/100-1/300. ELISA: 1/20000. Not yet tested in other applications. Concentration 1 mg/ml Reactive Species Human Host Species Rabbit Immunogen Synthesized peptide derived from Interleukin-24 at AA range: 131-180 Specificity MDA-7 Polyclonal Antibody detects endogenous levels of MDA-7 protein. Purification The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen Form Liquid in PBS containing 50% glycerol, 0.5% BSA and 0.02% sodium azide. Gene Name IL24 Accession No. Q13007 Q925S4 Q9JI24 Alternate Names IL24; MDA7; ST16; Interleukin-24; IL-24; Melanoma differentiation-associated gene 7 protein; MDA-7; Suppression of tumorigenicity 16 protein Description interleukin 24(IL24) Homo sapiens This gene encodes a member of the IL10 family of cytokines. It was identified as a gene induced during terminal differentiation in melanoma cells. The protein encoded by this gene can induce apoptosis selectively in various cancer cells. Overexpression of this gene leads to elevated expression of several GADD family genes, which correlates with the induction of apoptosis. The phosphorylation of mitogen-activated protein kinase 14 (MAPK7/P38), and heat shock 27kDa protein 1 (HSPB2/HSP27) are found to be induced by this gene in melanoma cells, but not in normal immortal melanocytes. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been reported. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008], Cell Pathway/ Category Cytokine-cytokine receptor interaction,Jak_STAT, Protein Expression Fibroblast,Lung,Melanoma, Subcellular Localization extracellular region, extracellular space, Protein Function caution:The sequence shown here is derived from an Ensembl automatic analysis pipeline and should be considered as preliminary data.,function:Has antiproliferative properties on melanoma cells and may contribute to terminal cell differentiation.,online information:Interleukin-24 entry, similarity:Belongs to the IL-10 family.,tissue specificity:Up-regulated in melanoma cells induced to terminally differentiate., Usage For Research Use Only! Not for diagnostic or therapeutic procedures. - Reviews
