SOB Medium, Animal-Free Soytone

SOB Medium, Animal-Free Soytone is soy hydrolysate (soytone)-based SOB (Super Optimal Broth) nutrient rich medium used for cultivation of E. coli. SOB Medium, Animal-Free Soytone is animal component free and thus provides better lot-to lot consistency. It is suitable for preparation of competent E. coli cells often with addition of 0.4% dextrose (SOC medium). The medium is suitable for applications where the use of animal products can be hazardous and source of unwanted contamination.

Features:​

• Composition: 2% Soytone, 0.5% yeast extract, 10 mM sodium chloride, 2.5 mM potassium chloride, 10 mM Magnesium chloride and 10 mM Magnesium sulfate, pH6.8 ± 0.2
• Sterile filtered using 0.2 micron filter units.
• available in 1 L and 10x 1 L sizes
