Description
Immobilized PEG 20,000 is designed to allow refolding of recombinant proteins that were aggregated or formed inclusion bodies when expressed in the genetically engineered cells. Immobilized PEG 20,000 is a hydrophobic interaction media which is considered more efficient in enhancing refolding than other media as it allows hydrophobic interaction between media and partially refolded or unfolded proteins with large amount of exposed hydrophobic clusters. This interaction decreases aggregation of proteins and with suitable releasing agent the proteins can be made to refold properly. Immobilized PEG 20,000 is also suitable for biomolecule capture and separation.
Features:
- Active group: PEG 20,000
- Extent of labeling: 25-40 µmol /g of drained gel
- Matrix: 6% cross-linked agarose
- pH stability: 6-9
- Chemical stability: Stable to all commonly used aqueous buffers and additives like detergents. Do not use azides.
- Storage temperature: 4°C
- Supplied as 50% slurry in 20 % ethanol
Applications:
- Immobilized PEG 20,000 is designed to allow refolding of recombinant proteins that were aggregated or formed inclusion bodies when expressed in the genetically engineered cells.
- Immobilized PEG 20,000 is also suitable for biomolecule capture and separation (purification).
