Description
Immobilized Octylphenolpoly(ethyleneglycolether)x is designed to allow refolding of recombinant proteins that were aggregated or formed inclusion bodies when expressed in the genetically engineered cells. The refolding of misfolded proteins is adapted from GroE chaperone refolding mechanism. The misfolded proteins or inclusion bodies are solubilized with denaturants such as guanidine hydrochloride, 6M. The solubilized protein is captured when passed through immobilized Octylphenolpoly(ethyleneglycolether)x column. The elution of protein is carried out by increasing β-cyclodextrin concentration. β-cyclodextrin allows for proper refolding of the protein.
