G-Trap™ SP Agarose Fast Flow is ready to use prepacked column used for seperation of proteins and other biomolecules based on charge. The resin in G-Trap™ SP Agarose Fast Flow is a strong cation exchanger composed of highly crosslinked 6% agarose beads coupled with sulphopropyl (SP) strong cation exchange group. The proteins carrying net possitive charge will bind to the resin and protein carrying net negative charge will not bind and will come out in flow through fraction.

There are other  G-Trap™ Ion Exchange Agarose Fast Flow Columns available in 1 ml and 5 ml column volume namely G-Trap™ CM Agarose, G-Trap™ DEAE Agarose Fast Flow and G-Trap™ Q Agarose Fast Flow. G-Trap™ CM Agarose Fast Flow contains cation exchanger resin and G-Trap™ DEAE Agarose Fast Flow and G-Trap™ Q Agarose Fast Flow contains anion exchanger resin. G-Trap™ Ion Exchange Selection Kit is available for initial screening for the appropriate ion exchanger to purify target protein.

G-Trap™ Ion Exchange Agarose Fast Flow Columns are ready to use prepacked columns for separation of biomolecules on the basis of charge. G-Trap™ Ion Exchange Agarose Fast Flow Columns are used for method scouting, separation or purification of biomolecules, sample concentration and sample cleanup for charged molecules. Biomolecules that carry net charge opposite to that of ion-exchanger bind to that ion exchanger and are thus separated from bulk molecules in the sample.
