Description | ZFP36 ring finger protein like 2(ZFP36L2) Homo sapiens This gene is a member of the TIS11 family of early response genes. Family members are induced by various agonists such as the phorbol ester TPA and the polypeptide mitogen EGF. The encoded protein contains a distinguishing putative zinc finger domain with a repeating cys-his motif. This putative nuclear transcription factor most likely functions in regulating the response to growth factors. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008], |
Protein Expression | Pancreas, |
Subcellular Localization | nucleus,cytoplasm,cytosol,intracellular ribonucleoprotein complex, |
Protein Function | function:Probable regulatory protein involved in regulating the response to growth factors. RNA-binding protein that binds to 5'UUAUUUAUUU-3' core sequence. Binds to the class II AU-rich element (ARE) in the 3'-UTR of target mRNAs and promotes their deadenylation and degradation.,similarity:Contains 2 C3H1-type zinc fingers., |
