G-Biosciences' Protein A Magnetic Beads are Fe3O4 beads coated with dextran to produce highly uniform, 1µm beads. Recombinant Protein A is covalently coupled to the dextran coat to produce an enhanced alternative to agarose slurries for immunoprecipitation experiments.
The use of magnetic beads offers several distinct advantages of traditional immunoprecipitation experiments include a significant reduction in time and non-specific protein binding.
A simple protocol involves the addition of your antibody of choice to the beads, which bind the Fc region (See Table 1, figure 1) during a short incubation.
