Immobilized Apramycin

Apramycin, an aminoglycoside antibiotic, is produced by a strain of Streptomyces tenebrarius. Apramycin is a potent inhibitor of protein synthesis in bacteria in vivo and in vitro. 
 

Immobilized Apramycin  is made by covalently coupling apramycin to 6% cross linked agarose and is used for isolating apramycin binding proteins, receptors and specific antibodies.

• Coupling is covalent through linkage of amino or carboxyl group depending upon the antibiotic to the pre-activated agarose.
