Immobilized Penicillin G
Penicillin G is a naturally occurring beta lactam antibiotic produced by the Penicillium fungus. Penicillin G works by inhibiting cell wall production in non-resistant cells by breaking the links between peptidogylocans and causing the production of cell wall damaging autolysins.
Immobilized Penicillin G is made by covalentlly coupling Penicillin G to 6% cross linked agarose and is used for isolating Penicillin G binding proteins, receptors and antibodies
- Penicillin G coupled to 6% cross-linked Agarose
- Coupling is covalent through linkage of amino or carboxyl group depending upon the antibiotic to the pre-activated agarose.
- Available in 5 ml and 10 ml sizes
- Immobilized Penicillin G is used for purification of Penicillin G binding proteins or receptors or specific antibodies.
